We’re pretty excited about the 2016 Chevrolet Volt here at JN Chevrolet, and we’re glad that the Green Car Journal is too. Specifically, the Green Car Journal just awarded the 2016 Chevrolet Volt its Green Car of the Year award at the Los Angeles Auto Show for its fuel-efficiency and energy-saving aspects. Let’s take a closer look at what made the Volt stand apart from the competition.

To pick a winner, an 11-member panel came together and judged the vehicles on various criteria, such as fuel-efficiency, EPA and California Air Resources Board certifications, performance, and affordability. An electric driving range of up to 420 miles and EPA-estimated economy of 42 miles per gallon, combined with its style, safety, and technology features, helped the 2016 Volt make an impact on the judges.

“A visually appealing design, increased five-passenger seating, and an array of on-board electronics combine with the Volt’s inherent efficiencies to make the 2016 Chevrolet Volt a real winner,” said Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of Green Car Journal and CarsOfChange.com.

As Steve Majoros, Chevrolet Marketing Director, said “For Volt to stand out in Green Car’s evaluation, it reaffirms Chevrolet’s commitment to being a leader in electrification.” We certainly agree at JN Chevrolet, and if you’d like to learn more about the Green Car of the Year, or any of our current models, don’t hesitate to contact us or stop by the dealership today.
