Here at JN Chevrolet, we understand that hybrid vehicles offer drivers a number of great benefits compared to conventional vehicles. Whether you’d like to do your part for the environment or just want to see some great savings at the fuel pump, a hybrid vehicle offers the fuel savings of an electric vehicle while avoiding the range anxiety of one. The 2016 Chevrolet Volt, for instance, is an example of a vehicle that’s great at being green (and saving green). That’s why it won the Green Car of the Year Award from the Green Car Journal.

The Volt faced off against the Audi A3 e-tron, Honda Civic, Hyundai Sonata, and Toyota Prius at the LA Auto Show, but emerged victorious thanks to its “…visually appealing design, increased five-passenger seating, and an array of on-board electronics”,  according to Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of the Journal. Add the Volt’s inherent efficiencies, its performance, its availability, and features like 53 miles of range on electricity alone, and it’s easy to see why it won the award.

This isn’t the first time the Volt has won this award–the 2011 Chevy Volt also won the Green Car of the Year award back when the vehicle debuted in 2011, and it’s only improved since. A newer generation than previous models, the 2016 Chevrolet Volt is lighter, tighter, and more fun to drive than ever before. Be sure to call, contact us online, or stop by the dealership to schedule a test drive of this electrifying model.
